All STANCE socks are made from a blend of combed cotton, polyester, nylon and elastane. While the man-made materials provide extra strength, durability and stretch to the socks, the real winner here is the combed cotton. Making up 77% of each pair of STANCE socks, combed cotton is an all-round excellent material for sock-manship. It has all the features of regular cotton - durability, breathability, moisture absorbency - but it’s much softer and stronger. This superior softness is achieved by treating the cotton fibres before they’re spun into yarn. Yes, this means it’s more expensive, but you can be sure that it’s worth it.

STANCE socks are so comfortable because, unlike most normal socks, they are crafted with an anatomical fit. While you can wear most socks on whichever foot you choose - this is not so with STANCE. Each sock is designed specifically for either the right or the left foot. While this is less flexible, you’ll immediately feel the difference in comfort.

We’ll be honest: it’s up to you. If you’re not fussed, then wear them however you find your STANCE socks to be most comfortable. If you want to show off the STANCE logo, however, then of course you’ll want to wear them with the logo on the outside. Just make sure you match the right sock to the right foot due to that special anatomical fit.

To be kind to both the environment and to your sleek STANCE socks, we’d recommend washing them gently with a reputable anti-bacterial detergent at 30 degrees celsius. The lower temperatures will protect the fibres of the socks, increasing their longevity. The detergent should take care of any bacteria - but check the packaging to ensure it works at lower temperatures. If you’d prefer to be safe and make sure you eliminate all traces of bacteria, you can wash them on a gentle cycle at 60 degrees celsius instead - with that anti-bacterial detergent for good measure. Although this is not very environmentally friendly. Our top tip for washing any pair of socks, however, is: turn them inside out before you put them in the washing machine. This will ensure that all the bacteria and dead skin is washed out.

You can definitely put your STANCE socks in the dryer. As with all socks, we recommend turning them inside out before you wash and dry them, put them on a gentle cycle and a low heat for the best results - but for the environment and for the durability of the material fibres of your new socks we suggest you hng them on a rack or washing line and let them dry naturally.
