Puma Underwear Review: Boxers, Trunks, Briefs & Socks

Sport can empower us. Transform us. It brings us together and pushes us to be the best we can be. As one of the world’s leading sportswear brands, Puma knows all of that - and more. It lives and breathes sport and encourages us to be the very best we can be with its clothing.

The same is true for their pants and socks collection. Puma knows its market, and it caters to it perfectly. Its men’s underwear is, 100%, focused on providing a comfortable and durable sportswear experience - at prices that won’t hurt your bank account.

So, join us as we dive head-first into our Puma collection at Pants&Socks. Boxers, trunks, briefs and more, it’s time to learn more about what makes Puma such a leading brand - both on and off the playing field. Here’s our Puma underwear review.

The history of Puma underwear

Puma has been relentlessly pushing the boundaries of sportswear since 1948, creating unbeatable sports products for the world’s most unbeatable athletes.

Founded in 1948 by German sports shoe-maker Rudolf Dassler, the company was originally named the “Schuhfabrik Rudolf Dassler (RUDA)”. It took another 4 months before the name ‘Puma’ was trademarked and the company that we know and love was born in Herzogenaurach - where it is still headquartered today.

Starting with a fixer-upper factory and just 14 employees, Puma has grown over the last 7 decades to turnover billions of dollars worth of business each year, home to over 16,000 employees worldwide - that’s quite the glow-up!

Just like the high-performance athletes it caters for, Puma adheres to a strict set of values: Brave, Confident, Determined and Joyful. Puma takes risks and pushes sportswear forward; makes statements and believes in itself; strives for success; and revels in the joys of competition and play.

But the brand doesn't cater exclusively to athletes. Anyone can enjoy the precision craft of Puma underwear products - at prices that won’t make you wince. There is a commitment to quality and performance, to producing underwear that will feel good all day long, whether you are on the sports pitch or just going about your everyday life.

So, let’s jump into the meat of our review and learn more about the underwear products that you can enjoy today courtesy of Puma.

Puma underwear review

At Pants&Socks, we have a great selection of Puma products that you can get your hands on right now. From boxer briefs to no-show socks, there’s something for everyone - and you don’t need to be a sports star to enjoy them!

Boxers

Puma Basic Men's Boxer 2 Pack

Puma’s boxers are a perfect choice for both everyday underwear or pants you can use under pressure - on the pitch, of course.

With a comfort waistband, featuring bold Puma branding around the circumference, and a soft stretch cotton construction, Puma’s boxer collection is built for two things: comfort and performance.

Now, these aren’t boxer shorts in the traditional sense. In fact, they’re styled more as boxer briefs - the ultimate hybrid between the classic boxer short and the snug-fitting men’s briefs. They provide a perfect balance of snug comfort and good support for your package, with the material sitting close to your skin and keeping everything tucked where it should be. Fortunately, this snug construction combines with the stretch cotton to provide a secure fit that won’t have you feeling hot and bothered.

Stretch-cotton combines the very best of cotton and elastane to create a high-performance material. Like regular cotton, it’s soft, breathable, durable and absorbent - making it a great choice for sportswear. However, throw a touch of elastane into the mix and the durability is boosted even further, while a healthy dose of stretch is added, allowing the pants to keep that snug and secure fit wear after wear.

If you like to add a splash of colour to your underwear drawer, you’re also in luck: Puma’s boxer collection boasts a huge variety of colours, from standard blacks and greys to green, red and blue. Variety truly is the spice of life - and Puma knows that only too well.

With a low price, secure fit, solid construction and a choice of vibrant colours, Puma’s boxers are a great choice both on and off the pitch - they’ll keep you feeling comfortable for a long while

Trunks

Puma Basic Men's Trunk 2 Pack

Providing a similar, snug and secure fit to Puma’s boxer collection, but with less material leading to a shorter leg, Puma’s collection of trunks is also a fantastic choice for everyday wear - or for wear on the pitch or in the gym.

Puma’s trunks are made from a cotton elastane blend and are cut in a very similar style to its boxers: snug and secure, with a soft-touch branded comfort waistband, and available in a variety of colours. Puma’s trunks are a great choice if you love the boxer style, but prefer a little less material coverage on your legs.

If trunks are more your style, you can shop Puma’s range of comfortable trunks here.

Briefs

Puma Basic Men's Brief 2 Pack

Briefs are the perfect sporting pants, the high leg cut allows for greater freedom of movement, while the pouch keeps your package in place as you run around. And the stretch cotton means the fabric moves with your body, again allowing you to move more freely.

Needless to say, Puma’s briefs are the epitome of great sports briefs, though, as we may have mentioned before, they are pretty darn good for everyday wear too - especially if you are not a fan of too much cloth around the thighs.

Socks

Puma Unisex Lifestyle Quarter 3 Pack

All of the Puma socks we carry at Pants&Socks were built for endurance - and great value. All of Puma’s socks are crafted from soft cotton - durable, breathable, natural (so no irritation for those who suffer from allergies to synthetics) and very soft. They also have standard elastic in the cuffs to ensure a secure fit.

If you enjoy a low-rise trainer, then the no show socks - called Footies in the Puma range - are definitely the way to go. These socks feature a flat toe seam for less irritation.

High tops demand ankle socks - called Sneaker socks by Puma. Puma’s sneaker socks come in a wider variety of colours and designs than their Footie socks - which makes sense, as they’ll certainly be on show a lot more. Puma also has a ¾ length sock that sits between an ankle sock and crew sock - an excellent hybrid style.

Finally, Puma’s crew socks (also called trouser socks) are perfect for all occasions. Featuring unobtrusive designs and muted colours in greys, blacks and whites, these socks are perfect for sportswear or everyday footwear.

Each type of sock is designed with a stylish leaping Puma logo on either the toe or just below the cuff for an added touch of style.
